Being married in two different countries, is not dissimilar to being married to two different countries. Twice the laws, twice the in-laws –oh wait (never mind). What accompanies a bicultural union is not only an emotional and psychological union with another being, but also a cultural union between societies. The impressions and assumptions that we individual carried prior to the union become a mixed embrace of sometimes matrimonial accord or other times of severely conflicting ideologies. When you bake that mix with the daily strain of a foreign matrimonial coexistence, some strong cookies come out.
